Heron’s Head Living Classroom
San FranciscoCA
Designed as a "Living Classroom," the Heron's Head Park project is a demonstration facility for the surrounding San Francisco community. This pioneering project incorporates straw bale and timber frame construction, SIP roof panels, rainwater recycling, composting toilet, and cob landscape walls. Working with Literacy for Environmental Justice (LEJ), Michael Heacock participated in the design of this project with Van der Ryn Architects.
